Welcome to St. Joseph School, Fullerton Maryland St. Joseph School is a Catholic, suburban parish school founded in the 1850s. Our mission is "to educate children in the Catholic tradition by creating an environment in which each student is challenged to develop his/her full potential academically, spiritually, and morally." (St. Joseph School Board, April, 1995) "St. Joseph School is able to provide the proper balance of academic excellence, religious training, and physical and social development with a Catholic atmosphere through the close cooperation of faculty, the school board, parents and clergy. At St. Joseph, intellectual development is maintained through problem solving activities, logical presentations, concrete and symbolic operations and responses to motor and sensory experiences. Striving to achieve the student's personal development, we nurture the curiosity, uniqueness of the individual and the responsible exercise of free will. Our teachers are encouraged, as professionals, to draw upon their variety of experiences, educational methods and faith witness. We believe as a Catholic and Franciscan school that each student must assume responsibility for one's own life, as well as for those in the community. Therefore, the primary concern for our school is to provide the student with the tools and guidance necessary to ensure development as a responsible individual able to assume a proper role within the family and Catholic community. With this in mind, we constantly strive to cultivate a positive self-respect and personal dignity which will enable the child to live a daily life based on these ideals and values."
Non-Discriminatory Policy It is the policy of the Archdiocese School Board that the Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Baltimore shall not discriminate against any application or employee because of sex; and shall not discriminate against any student because of sex in any education program and activity."
