Our principal, Ms. Thaler, has worked with the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore since 1971. She has been at Saint Joseph School since 1990. Ms. Thaler has a number of degrees and certificates: M. Ed. (Elementary Education) 1980; C.A.S.E. (Administration and Supervision) 1991; Maryland State Department of Education certified as a teacher and administrator; Archdiocese of Baltimore certified as advanced catechist. Ms. Thaler is extremely well-qualified for her position. Our assistant principal, Ms. Michaud, began teaching in our Catholic school in 1974 and has served as assistant principal at Saint Joseph School since 1990. Her degrees and certificates include: M. Ed. (Elementary Education) 1980; Maryland State Department of Education certified teacher; Archdiocese of Baltimore certified as a catechist. Ms. Michaud is very well-qualified for her position at the school. Saint Joseph School has 25 full time teachers, seven teaching assistants, a licensed counselor, a speech pathologist, a full time nurse, a full time administrative assistant, a part time secretary/bookkeeper, a part time speech/language therapist, two reading specialists, a library coordinator, a Spanish teacher, and a computer/technology director. All of the teachers are MSDE certified. Sixteen of the teachers have Masters degrees or Masters equivalents. All teachers hold BA or BS degrees. Fifteen teachers are Catechist certified.
